Sleeping
JT has not been taking naps except during nursing for quite a few weeks now. I've known he's needed more sleep and better sleep but I didn't know what to do. What everyone has said keeps running through my mind. There's so much conflicting advice. The past couple days I've been thinking about what I said about toddlers who won't take a nap or go to bed at night. I kept saying, "I'd make them." I finally decided today that JT is going to take his naps today. This mornings nap was difficult and only lasted 30 minutes but he was still in his own bed. Then he started crying again, tired as can be. So I put him down. Man was that hard. I had to calm him but the only thing that worked was breast feeding. I had to keep him awake or all my earlier efforts were for not. He wasn't eating because he was hungry and he was falling asleep quickly. So I took him off and tried calming him again since he started crying right away. I finally just had to put him down and let him be. After about 5 minutes, his crying started waning and after about 15 minutes it stopped altogether. We now will be reading a story before bed time each nap. You Are My Miracle by Maryann K. Cusimano Love (Author), Satomi Ichikawa (Illustrator) GREAT BOOK : ) It's definitely a mommy and me book.
