Weight down

Bubby is now in the 20th percentile in weight. Doc just wants to keep him at 20 or higher. We'll be starting him on veggies tomorrow. We'll start off with jar food. I hope to soon be making his baby food. Fun stuff : )

Umbilical Hernia

Joseph noticed yesterday that JT no longer had an umbilical hernia. I noticed a while ago, but am not quite sure when it happened. I think it was somewhere around 2 mo. His belly button looks flat, not an inny, not an outy.

Naps update

JT is waking once during the night but going back to sleep without nursing. It just takes me an hour to get him to go back to sleep. Every time he falls asleep and I lay him down, he wakes up again. I'm looking forward to him not waking during the night at all, but he has majorly wet or dirty diapers when he does wake. Since I'm giving him cereal for dinner, when should I give it to him?

He's not doing great with napping. At least today was difficult. Maybe tomorrow will be better. We'll see. I'm praying : ) I really want to get my house cleaned and neat and keep it that way, but the only way I can do that is to get him to take naps. I'm too tired at night to do anything much. I'm a morning person, so when Bubby sleeps through the night I might be able to get up early and do some work : ) That would be grand. I would love spending Bubby awake time playing with him without thinking about all the stuff I have to do. One of these days : )

Taking Naps : )

I have tried everything to get my Bubby to sleep. The only things that seemed to work some times were breast feeding, crying himself to sleep (takes about 30 minutes and leaves me with my nerves twitching), strolling, or car ride. All those only worked some times. I kept hearing about mothers patting their child's back until they fell asleep. My Bubby screams like crazy when on his belly, so that was out. I was at my wits end Saturday, so I tried putting him on his belly. Alas he was screaming bloody murder even with me patting his back. So I flipped him back over and picked him up. I put a binky in his mouth, which he only takes once in a blue moon, and pat his back. He quieted down QUICK!!! What the... I laid him down and he awoke crying. I lightly patted his side and that calmed him and he fell asleep. I wondered if it was just a fluke since everything else I found that worked stopped working soon. It has now been two days. Every time it has worked. It even worked last night when he awoke around 1am. It took until about 2am for me to finally get him to sleep again, but patting his back calmed him right away. (When he awoke at night in the past, the only thing that calmed him was mom's milk.) It's like some one gave me a magic wand. Wow!!!! In any case, he didn't wake again until 6:30am. We'll see how tonight and the rest of the week goes. But I am hopeful :)

4 mo Check up

wt 13lbs 14oz = 27%
ht 26.75 = 95%
hc 42 = 42%

8-31-09

JT's weight took a dip, so doctor's orders were for him to start on cereal for breakfast and dinner. He's doing great with that.

What were your children's wt at 4 mo? JT doesn't seem to small. I mean he has rolls on his thighs. Going for a wt check at 5 mo.

Play Gym

I laid Bubby on his back on the gym and he started playing with the toys for the first time : ) It was so precious. I went to get a picture but the battery was dead : ( I'm charging it. I hope to have a photo soon.
